Major Events in Year 2007 - 08
5th September: Teacher's Day - With great respect and dignity, the teachers day was celebrated in the BMIT campus on 5th of September. The entire event was organized by ELITE - the event management team of SAC - Student Activity Centre. The event included various games such as pass the parcel, dumb charades etc designed by the students of BMIT for their 'gurus'.
5th September: Welcome Day - With great love and affection, the 1st year students welcomed by their seniors in the traditional BMIT. The main objective of the orientation day was to enlighten the Freshers to carry in great style on the new path of success and knowledge, at the same time acquainting them with the codes and ethics of their future alma-mater. The faculty also welcomed the new students and challenged them to infuse and explore their hidden potentials with greater zeal and enthusiasm in this learning temple.
9th September: Expedition to Amer-Jaigarh-Nahargarh – It couldn’t have been a greater way to start the new career for students. This fun filled trekking trip for the newly joined entrants to the BMIT family i.e. I Year students was organized by the Sports & Expedition club of the SAC, the trip involved exploring the world renowned heritage sites like Nahargarh, Jaigarh and Amer. The major aim of the trip was at bringing a feeling of bonding and camaraderie between fresher
16th October : Fresher's Day ‘Hum Tum’- For welcoming the new entrants to the ever growing BMIT family, Fresher's Party was organized by the II year students. Freshers party had an array of events to boast about. The various events such as- Ramp walk, instrumental, dances, songs and many other such entertaining programs. Sachita Agarwal was given the title of Ms Fresher , Dhruv Mallik was given the title Mr Freshers, Ashutosh Jangid was given the title of Mr Persona, Kunal Sachdeva was given the tite of Mr. Popular, whereas Ms Popular was Sheetal Saini. The event was entertaining and was enjoyed by one and all. The party concluded with a DJ party and a sumptuous gala dinner.
17th October: Thanks giving party – To mark their respect and love towards their seniors, thanks giving party was organized by the 1st year students. The glittering event was dotted with various enjoyable events like: saraswati vandana, classical dance, semi classical dance, western dance, songs by the boy's band and instrumental. The highlights of the event were a comedy play scripted by Abhishek Kumar of First year. The event ended with the DJ party and a hearty dinner.
27th October : Annual Hostel Night - This was a late night event organized from 9 pm to 1200 hrs covering a whole range of events like cultural program, DJ, Kho-Kho match, football matches, tug of war, kho- kho, bonfire, snacks and a delicious late night dinner. It was a fun filled dance party in the direct supervision of the Hostel Wardens and the Proctor.
3rd November : SAC Activity Day – Like every Saturday, the SAC organized various vocational training programs in the field of fine arts like dance and music, special dance classes and personality development sessions were delivered from trained professionals.
8th November: Diwali Party – BMItians, before proceeding to their diwali holiday break had an extremely fun filled dance and singing party organized at the lush green lawns of BMIT. Good food, music and dance were the order of the evening.
15th November: Talent hunt 2007 - To unearth the hidden talent among and to dig and distinguish the VERY BEST among the talented students of BMIT, live auditions were held on 15th November in the categories of technical events as well as the extra curricular fields like Dramatics, Mono acting, poetry, singing, dancing, debating, quizzing, creative writing, and instrumental.
31 Dec / 1st January: Hostel New Year Party – To welcome 2008 in great style and pomp & show BMItians arranged a dance and music party at its lush green lawns of BMIT. Good food, music and games were the order of the evening. Students bid farewell to the year 2007 and welcomed 2008 with great hopes and expectations.
10th February: Expedition to Pushkar/Ajmer – A full day expedition to Pushkar and Ajmer was arranged by Student Activity Center for the BMITians , the trip was enjoyed by one and all, the students went through the places of religious importance like the Pushkar and the world renowned mosque. The students enjoyed a typical rajasthani meal of Dal Batti Churma. This hugely successful trip had every body talking for days together.
24th January : Mega Campus recruitment Drive by Wipro BPO – Wipro BPO came to the campus of BMIT for their mega recruitment drive for students of 2008 batch. A total of 23 different colleges and approximately 500 students participated in this grand event. The recruiter arranged a written test, group discussion personal interviews before zeroing on 27 students, who were given appointment letters. 12 of the BMITians were selected in this on campus recruitment drive
01st-03rd February : Laurels at MNIT & Jaipuria Institute – Sandipan Mitra of First Year showed his talent in the photography event in an inter college tournament held at Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur. He stood third in the keeny contested event. The BMIT dance team proved its mettle once again. The team participated in the inter college dance competition organized by Jaipuria Institute of Management and won the first prize. College from all over Rajasthan participated in this fest. The team members included Charu Sharma, Radhika Manchanda, Nidhi Gehrotra, Barkha Sharma, Mitali Nayak, Deepik Goya, Mandeep Kaur, Shilpi singh, Puneet Nasa & Samavesh Tiwari. Also Mayank Rawat of II Year and Milan Gaur of III Year won second prize and special prize in the same event in the category of Western Solo singing.
08th-09th February : Laurels at IIRM – Like every Saturday, the SAC organized various vocational training programs in the field of fine arts like dance and music, special dance classes and personality development sessions were delivered from trained professionals.
18th-20th February : Laurels at Dainik Bhaskar event ‘Jalsa’ – Once again the dance team from BMIT proved too good for their competitors. The team participated in the inter college dance competition organized by Dainik Bhaskar and won the second prize in the eagerly fought event. The Phoenix team of BMIT consisting of Amit Joshi, Nikita Sorankhiya, Shekhar Mehta, Anurag Saxena, Ankan Chatterjee, Ronak Nanvati, Mayank Gaur, Shashank Srivastava, Ankita Rstogi & Mudita Kejriwal brought the laurels to their alma-mater.
15th Februry-21st February- Hostel Sports Week – This week long hostel week was arranged by Hostel Activity Center (HAC) to promote sportsmanship and teamwork among hostellers. Students participated in great numbers and with highest enthusiasm in various outdoor and indoor games like Volleyball, Football, Cricket, Table Tennis, Chess etc. Various inter-house competitions were held and the overall winner was the ‘Tagore House’.
08th-09th March : Laurels at Shankara Institute of Technology – The BMITians proved that they are not only good in studies but also in sports too. BMI volleyball team comprising of Rajendra Rayal, Shiv Ram, Manish Tiwari, Nitin, Mukesh Dudiwal, Sushant, Dharma Ram, Abhishek, Sunil sharma, Balram Jakhr, Kushapal & Ompraksh won second prize in a intensely contested inter college tournament
24th March - Holi Party - This colorful festival marked by dance, music, songs and good food. Hostlers thoroughly enjoyed the entire event.
08th-09th March : Laurels at Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology – The BMIT volley ball proved its mantle once again by winning first prize at the sports events of SKIT. The team comprised of Rajendra Rayal, Shiv Ram, Manish Tiwari, Nitin, Mukesh Dudiwal, Sushant, Dharma Ram, Abhishek, Sunil sharma, Balram Jakhr, Kushapal & Ompraksh won second prize in a highly competitive environment.
10th April : Mega Campus recruitment Drive by IBM India – IBM India Private Limited arranged a mega campus recruitment drive at the sprawling campus of BMIT. The drive was aimed at recruitment by IBM for their Hyderabad and Bangalore work places and was aimed at 2008 and 2009 batches. A total of 45 different colleges and more then 1000 students took part in this mega event. The recruitment process arranged a written test, group discussion and personal interviews before finalizing for 45 students, who were issued appointment letters. A total of 18 of the BMITians were selected in this on campus mega recruitment drive.
11th April : Release of movie ‘The Empires’ created by BMIT students - A new and innovative venture of BMIT student took them to new frontiers of movie making. A totally new field involved the BMITians to venture into the arenas of production, direction, scripting, choreography, editing, and sound effects. The film showcased the talents of BMITians in a totally divers field of movie making. The film was a huge hit among students. The team involved in this project comprised of Amit Joshi, Chirag Singh, Ankan Chatterjee, Anurag Saxena & Ronak Nanvati.
